Orders are generally processed and shipped out within 24-48 hours (depending on the size of the order, shipping method and time of day the order is received). Because shipping situations and delivery times vary so much, we reserve the right to choose the appropriate cost and time effective shipping service — generally USPS Priority Mail/First Class (expedited), UPS Ground (expedited), USPS Media Mail (standard) or LTL-freight (bulk orders) — based upon the size of the order and destination. Book orders are generally shipped either in padded envelopes, USPS Priority Mail mailers or sturdy, corrugated cardboard boxes. Once your order has shipped, we will provide email notification of the shipping method and tracking number (when available).

U.S. and APO/FPO Shipping

For expedited shipping, smaller orders (1-10 books) are generally shipped via USPS Priority Mail, while larger orders (10 or more) are generally shipped via UPS Ground. Books shipped within the continental U.S. generally arrive within 3 to 5 business days. Shipping to Hawaii, Alaska and other territories can take longer. For standard shipping, orders are shipped via USPS Media Mail (estimated to most locations at 5 to 20 days, but sometimes take longer depending on the time of year, i.e., holidays, and your shipping location). APO/FPO orders generally arrive within 3 to 7 business days (but can sometimes take up to 1-3 weeks or longer, dependent upon the military postal system).

Canada Shipping

The US Postal Service offers special reduced USPS pricing for shipping to Canada (compared to international shipping rates), so we are able pass these savings on to you. For expedited shipping via USPS Priority Mail, Canadian orders generally arrive within 5 to 7 business days, but sometimes can take slightly longer. Standard shipping (via USPS First Class) may take up to 1-3 weeks or longer.

International Shipping

Smaller orders (1-4 books) are generally shipped via U.S. Postal Service (USPS) First Class International (approx. 5-9 days), while larger orders (more than four books) are generally shipped either USPS International Priority mail (approx. 3-7 days) or UPS Worldwide Expedited (approx. 3-5 days) depending on the destination, cost, and availability of services. For bulk orders we can also arrange to ship via freight and/or freight forwarding services.

Since we do NOT collect any VAT payments or any applicable duties or fees at the time of purchase our books ship delivery duty unpaid, meaning the buyer is responsible for any required VAT and potential additional customs clearance fees before the shipping carrier will release their package. Customs fees for international orders are the responsibility of the buyer. This applies to returned or refused shipments as well. Our books are considered “books for educational purposes” and are assigned HR Code 4901.99.00.10, which for most countries means there are no import duty fees.

Our website charges a flat fee estimate to cover the actual international shipping and handling costs; we make no profit from the shipping. In some cases, shipping costs may exceed the estimate. If necessary, we will contact you for the additional shipping costs prior to proceeding with shipment. (Customers can always consider our Digital SMARTbooks and skip the shipping charges!)
